King James in the Building

Man.... I was so upset with 1 second left on the clock... Cavs down 2. And only the King could save them. And he did. It's like those games back in the day where you knew Jordan was gonna win it but you just had to see it to believe it. We are all witnesses.

Here's my playoff breakdown...

Series 1: Lakers vs Nuggets

Well, first things first. Don't count on one of the two start winning the game for the team. That's not gonna be the case in this series. Kobe and Mello will cancel out point for point. So that means who will have to win? The bench. Which ever bench is better in this series, will get the W. Kobe really shouldnt even be there, struggling with a Houston with no T-Mac, no Yao and no Mutumbo. That really shows a lot on the part of Houston's bench, telling me that they can play up to par with a full Laker squad. Had Tracy and Yao been there at least, the series may have upset a lot of folk.

So which bench is better? Well I say Denver. Why? Because I don't have the faith in the young team that the lakers have. Over half of the team has never been in a really good playoff role yet. Lamar isn't playing like he needs to, and Gasol is going to have a lot more and talented guys guarding him the time around. However, they are good players that can put up good playoff numbers once they get in a rythem.

I say Denver in 6 maybe 7 depending on Lamar and Gasol. Stay tuned for analysis of the final games of the 08-09 NBA season.

Series 2:

Well. King James. Enough said there. Maybe I am biassed here because I have already seen the promise land that Lebron brings to the new era of basketball. Bigger and better players that will make the game that exciting again. But back to the series...

Two young teams so neither has the advantage there. I think that Lebron is the best player in this team and he will put up big numbers. Dwight Howard has to play the same every night to offset Lebron. If not, then his bench will have to definitely out play Lebron's every night. Which they have been doing. Ilgauskus has to step up and put up at least 18pts and 10 boards everynight in order for this team to win. The other big guys have to try to contain Dwight Howard, and keep Orlando out of the game so they don't have a chance to win in the end.

If the Cavs have to count on Lebron hitting a 3 at the buzzer each night for a win, it will be very difficult and that will be a lot of weight to put on your star player's shoulders.

I say Lebron in 6 as well. I think once he has a good grasp on the way that Orlando is defending him, he will find ways to get his other teammates in the game and make it easier to skip past the Magic.
