2010 NBA Conference Semi-Finals
Why? Why? Why is Lebron no in the playoffs anymore? Well, it seems like there is still needed change in Cleveland. Either Lebron needs to go, or they need another guard who can be the go to guy. Mo Williams is a good player, and I think he's got Lebron's back to the end, but he is just too small. There is only so much he can do. They put up a good fight but like every 7 game series, things change and so does the flow of the game. The Celtics have always been a good team and probably an even better competitor. This year showed that they don't worry about the hype and all of the critics doing their best to put them down.
I honestly don't think that Orlando has what they need to win a championship right now. Dwight still has some development to do and a lot of improvement to do on his game. It's already easy for him to get points and go hard, but once he develops those other parts of his game, everyone will see. He definitely reminds me of Shaq when he was in Orlando. He needs Vince, Nelson and Lewis to pick p their games as well. Same problem that Phoenix will have. If you are going to depend on your big man to do 30+ points and 20+ rebounds to win a 7 game series, it may not happen. Everyone knows that the paint is the hardest place to get buckest.
What about LA? They had sights on a sweep as well. But I've seen Steve Nash come back from down 3-1 and beat Kobe before so don't count them out either. But like I said, Stoudamire will have to duplicate his big games for sure. They are saying that Pau Gasol is the best big man in the league, but I didnt see him stop Stoudamire much during the last game. Grant Hill and Richardson will also need to come through in the rest of their series in order for them to have a chance. Magic Johnson said it best, the Lakers are the most skilled team in the NBA today, so you have to be ready to play each and every night.
All of this competition in the NBA has me getting amped to play in the upcoming 2010 Show Me State Games held in Columbia, Mo. I get to reunite with some old teammates and compete in one of the best basketball competitions in the Mid-West. Stay tuned because I will be covering the games and posting pics and scores as we play. Games are held from June 11th - 13th. Come and support our team if you have time.
