Playoffs So Far Have Been Great

Everyone says that the NBA isn't competitive anymore. They must not have seen a Kobe fan and Lebron fan in the same room in a while. Cause the playoffs this year??? They're fantastic. Lebron still where he wants to be trying to get his first. Kobe battling back to get his fifth title and second two-peat in 10 years. I think I may have been a bit spoiled with the whole Jordan era. There just wasn't any other competition. Not any that was at his level. But this year, there are so many different threats out on the court that 90% of the games so far have been neck and neck. Even though the Magic was able to sweep the Bobcats, beware. When was the last time you saw them in the playoffs, huh?

And the young Chicago Bulls. If they weren't playing against Lebron, they may have had a better chance. I do think they would take Orlando though. i know my pops don't like that but it's the truth. If Dwight Howard isn't able to stay out of foul trouble in the next round, I think he'll be taking an early trip to the Bahamas for the start of his off-season.

I love the Kobe vs Durant match up. I remember watchin this kid do his thing down in Texas and win himself a national title... and trust me, I don't really like Texas either. I guess I don't really have a team. How can a Bahamian really have a team? We're not tagged to those teams in any way... unless there is really some tie. But for someone who grew up in the Bahamas and only went to Florida a few times for shopping, you don't really have a team. I never really "liked" the Bulls, but Jordan was on their team so they just happened to be default.

Other than that, its been Dwayne Wade and Lebron aka King James. We are all witnesses whether we like it or not. Like Agent Smith in the Matrix said... "It's Inevitable"...

Celtics do have a chance tho. I don't want to count them out. Three superstars already with championship experience? Can't really tell until that series is played. That'll be a good one. Maybe the only series I wouldn't bet on. I'd bet against Kobe all day tho, just an FYI.

Joe Johnson has been doin good but they're down 3-2 so they need to step it up. Those young Milwaukee Bucks aren't goin down easy. I didn't even know where Jennings came from with all of his explosiveness. They had a good year all around and he was close to being NBA Rookie of the Year.

The other interesting series is Melo and the Jazz. I've seen Deron Williams dunk on Rose... really bad. So I can say he means business. Not the same Jazz with Malone and Stockton but they are maybe stronger all around. Not more talented, although that is arguable. Melo is also down 3-2 so he needs to step it up as well. He did his thing and got that national title with Syracuse but the NBA is a different animal. An animal that bites back. Billups will need to have a big series finish as well if they plan to be the 9th team in NBA history to come back from down 3-1. I've seen Kobe lose after being up 3-1 so I know it's possible. One of the best in the game.

Dallas is already goin home. Don't bet on them until they change owners or trade Dirk. He should go to Cleveland. Wow. Let me not even play with the thought. But the Spurs are the spurs. Timmy (with the South Park voice) wants to win. He's done it already. Parker has done it already. And so has Manu. They are always a big threat in the West.

But who will take it? Every year I'm anxious to know. To see the next series unfold. I'm not usually wrong but I like to know if I am... If I had to call it early in the game. I would say it's a pretty good chance we'll be seeing maybe the best match up ever in a NBA championship... yup, Lebron vs Kobe. I get excited each year knowing that it will happen eventually.

We just have to wait and see. Someday there'll be time machines on sale for $500 and we won't have these problems of wondering. But until that day, I'm gonna stay at the edge of my seat game after game.
